About Baker

Hi, it makes us really happy that you are reading this. It means there is at least some interest in working with us, or maybe it is just curiosity. We are David and Jacin, founders of Baker, the project of our lives. We are building an agentic platform to automate 100% of performance marketing. We sell the platform in 2 ways: as a service or as a product. As a service means we use the platform on the client's behalf and we operate as if we were a marketing agency. As a product means the client uses the platform on their own and we operate as if we were a SaaS. The vision: thanks to AI agents, most marketing will be automated. The mission: fully manage the paid channel of lead-based businesses through our own platform. We chose performance marketing because it runs on numbers and repetitive operational work, exactly what agents solve best. Our clients are lead-based businesses: education, B2B SaaS and the like. The bet is that agents will let a services company run with margins close to software. And on top of that, services move far more business than software. The window of opportunity is open now and nobody knows how long it will last. That is why we decided to jump in with everything. We want to be the biggest marketing agency in the world. Or at least the one that serves its clients best. It sounds delusional, we know it will be hard, but in the worst case we will have tried, and we are having fun on the way.

The role

You will be the first salesperson at Baker. Until now the founders have done the selling, with a process one of us wrote from scratch having never sold before. It works, and it is nowhere near what it should be. The main job will be selling. There is a lot of consulting in it, so you will have to dive deep into the world of performance marketing and AI. Inbound arrives today through the founders' network and our investors, and it is yours from the first email to the signature. A lot is coming in, but at some point we will need to do outbound too. But the role is not only selling. You will also build the foundations of a bigger sales team to come. You will have total freedom to change everything.

Two products, two ways of selling

Done for you (Service). We take over the client's entire paid channel: campaigns, landing pages, creatives, tracking, reporting, and the technical work inside their systems. We charge on their ad spend, so we grow if the client grows. We charge them between €1,500 and €3,000 a month. Platform (Product). The client uses Baker themselves, priced by credits. This sale needs a product demo, and after the signature comes a week of activation: we set up their account with them and build a real landing page, a real creative and a real campaign on their own brand. We charge them between €500 and €800 a month. Both start with a technical audit of their ad accounts and CRM by our engineers. You choose the model after the discovery call.

You're a fit if

You have closed deals end to end at a software company, ideally in a startup environment. You have built or rebuilt a sales function, or stood close enough to one to know which parts matter. You know that selling and human contact are what matter most, but you are also drawn to RevOps and to automating everything that doesn't add value. You are optimistic about AI and believe the future is going to be amazing and exciting. You are hungry and want to grow as much as we do.

How we work

We are async by default. We communicate on Slack. No recurring meetings, no fixed schedule, no hour tracking. We measure the value you deliver. We are a very small team, horizontal, with no middle management. This is a list of things that defines how we think and work: - Never do anything anyone tells you to do if you don't understand why. - If you disagree, argue it. Either you convince us or we convince you. - Don't pretend to know things you don't. Let's all put our cards on the table. This isn't a battle of egos, it's all of us together against the market. - If you see something broken, fix it. You don't need permission. If you see something broken and it isn't part of your job, fix it anyway. - You can break things as long as you learn why you broke them. - We expect you to give feedback. We will mess up many times. You won't hurt our ego, quite the opposite, you'll push us to get better. - You will receive feedback. It doesn't mean you're doing badly, not at all. It means our main goal is to grow together and feedback is the best mechanism for it. - The starting point will usually be problems, not solutions. How to solve them is up to you. - Let's never lie to each other. A single lie can break trust and make it impossible to keep working together. - Cost matters a lot and it's often the forgotten variable. Something being good doesn't make it profitable. - Transparency creates efficiency. Trying to hide things takes effort. - It's fine to bang your head against the wall 2 or 3 times. But on the 4th, ask for help. - There will be moments when you feel frustrated. Tell us. We'll get through them together. - Manage your time however you want. We are not going to monitor anything. What we expect isn't hours, it's value delivered. - Have fun. Work is a high % of our life, we'd better enjoy it.

Compensation and benefits

We have a transparent career path that we can share with you in the first interview. For this role, the OTE is between €53,000 and €63,000 a year: a fixed salary of €28,000 to €38,000 plus around €25,000 of variable if you hit the target year. The variable is uncapped: 5% of the new annualized revenue you close on Done for you (Service) and 10% on Platform (Product). Paid quarterly. The fixed band is a starting point. We grow people as fast as the company grows. On equity: we don't have the package closed yet, but we want everyone on the team to own a piece of the company and we are working on it. If after a few months we see it is a fit, we sit down with you to put a scenario on the table. 23 working days of vacation, plus December 24th and December 31st. We prefer Barcelona or Valencia, but it can also be fully remote if the person is exceptional.

What you'd earn

The fixed salary is agreed when you join, inside the band. The variable depends only on what you sell, and the two products pay different rates. Move the sliders.

We run the client's entire paid channel and charge a percentage of their ad spend. Big deals. You earn 5%.

The client uses Baker as software, on a subscription. Smaller deals, and every one needs a demo, so the rate is higher. You earn 10%.

Both sliders count annualized revenue: a client paying €1,000 a month counts as €12,000.

Variable

Your year

Clients who churn in their first six months give the commission back, so a bad sale is worth zero to you. These numbers are an illustration.

About us

We are a very small, brand new company. The window for AI-native businesses is open now and we want to be aggressive while it lasts. It is going to be hard. We think this is the opportunity of our lifetime, and we want it to be yours too.

What's the process?

The process is the following: 1. A one-hour interview with Jacin, where we see if there is a cultural fit. It's a relaxed conversation, with questions about your interests, what you have done and whether there is a match. 2. A second interview with David and Jacin, where we do a one-hour roleplay. 3. That's it. If you are a fit, we send you an offer letter.

How we think Four ideas that shape every decision at Baker.

We are AI first

We don't think AI will just speed up our processes. We think it changes them radically. We're not the kind of people who say "AI, yes, but carefully." AI is the future and we embrace it fully, no caveats.

Transparency

Hiding takes effort. Being open is efficient. Put your weaknesses on the table, share ideas even if you think they're dumb, and don't be afraid to share publicly. Most good things in our careers came from working in the open.

Lean by design, massive in impact

We think big and stay small. Lean AI-leveraged squads generate outsized value without the overhead of a traditional company: minimal management, no recurring meetings, and deep work protected.

Nobody asked for it

The best thing we ever do for a client is the thing they never requested. No "that's not included" here: if it moves their number, we do it, even when it costs us revenue. We'll tell a client to stop advertising a product when the numbers say so, and we're paid on their ad spend.
